This state needs a massive overhaul.
They removed all male midpipes-downpipes installed female pipes.
now we have one big "transitional" piping system.
Now everyone's confused.

I am confused.
I assume we all know that Nothing can be changed between the air box and the catalytic converter without a carb number.
Is that what we're talking about here?

Oh, yeah. You can't have an aftermarket downpipe without a CARB number.
I don't remember ever seeing a company that made one.
You may get by a smog tech, but never the ref.

Finally got the Evo IX OEM downpipe installed thanks to Evo8LTW. I had to email proof of repairs to the state ref so they can approve my next appointment.
Failed because of "visual mid-pipe tampered" (passed functional) it was .5 inch bigger than OEM lol.
Should be getting a response by next week. It should pass everything this time. Emission scam California.

As long as everything "cat-forward" is stock or a CA carb legal replacement, they can't say anything anymore. Good luck and let us know if he makes something else up.
