This is the oil dipstick spring that Buschur put on my built 2.3 when it was there for a complete engine rebuild.  Shame on them for not properly venting my crank-case by machining a larger hole in my valve-cover, however I did this shortly after, and hence I didn't need the spring anymore to keep my dipstick from popping out.  This was originally on my Evo 9, but I can't see why it would be any different for an Evo 8 or 7 either. Not sure about earlier models.
