100,000 Miles & Loving it!
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to let you all know that as of last Wednesday I'm now over 100,000 miles on my 2003 EVO 8! I'm pretty sure I'm the first to make it and the EVO is running great thanks to Cory and Mike down at Atlantic Motorsports!

thats bad ***....i had a 2002 wrx last year with 135k and it was super nice...highway miles are great!

All Mitsu service has been completed when required by: Younger Mitsubishi in Hagerstown, Md. Mods were never an issue!
1. 5K: Stock Clutch making strange sound but is working perfectly. Found to be a bad throwout bearing. Entire clutch replaced under warranty.
2. 5K-30K: No issues but ADVANs are toast. Put on new tires.
As it was winter, I put on all-season tires. I had these tires on my car until 98K miles. Great Winter tire! See link for details:

3. 30K-50K: No issues
4. 55K: Time to replace brake pads: Rears wear before fronts! Why? Because front have harder compound pads than rear! Used Ferodo pads.
5. 60K: Time to replace timing and balancer belts +60K service= $850
6. 60K-75: Lights behind foctory gauges start to burn out one at a time and all within one month. Replaced all lights. Special order not common light.
7. 75K-80K: Learned that HKS BOV not good for 2003 EVO
8. 80K-86K: No issues
9. 86K 5th Gear Syncro grinding very slightly and only when shifting over 60mph from 4th. Called Mitsu and was told they would cover it under Warranty after verifing the problem. I have the 100K!
10. 86K-93K Switched from Mobil-1 to AMSOIL 100% Synthic. Gas mileage rose 10%!
11. 93-100K Younger Mitsubishi repaired 2 Transmission TSBs 5th gear syncro and reverse idler gear. While it was appart I had them install a new stock clutch. Why stock you say? Because the other stock one lasted until 95K and a new one was only $300 because there was no labor costs. Installed new tires BFGoodrich GForce Sport tires. $97 each from Tire Rack. They stick like glue in the dry and have a treadwear of 340! Most EVO owners will not outdrive this tire and it's a better quality tire than the others in the same price range.

No. I drive from West Virginia to DC(87 miles) to work and back each day. The traffic is stop-and-go part of the way so you wouldn't get much use out of the cruise control. I have also driven to NC a few times(5 1/2 hours) and I didn't have any issues with "foot fatigue" or anything. I guess you just get used to it.
