yea dude you must have had a key under there, I have remote start and I have the same thing in my car. I have a key buried under the dash. But i also have a proximity sensor that goes off if it rains too hard, and a backup batter in case someone pops the hood and cuts off power supply. And I have the pager and I park my car right next to my bedroom window (my room is in the basement, window is along side the garage).

I've always been paranoid about someone stealing my tv deck or something, never though people actually steal evos

I hope you added your extra parts to your insurance agent. If not, then I also hope you have receipts for all the extra parts for the work. Make sure you get that stuff covered. Don't take the ACV (actual cash value) they give you - show them the receipts!
