NASA Hyperfest - June 19-20
http://www.nasaracing.net/Hyperfest10/event.htm
Wondering if there is anyone who was thinking about doing this? I'm somewhat intrigued, but have no experience or buddies who have done one of these events. Wondering if there is any locals who hit it up?
Also wondering if anyone has done a Driftwater event - Next one is July 3rd.

Same sort of deal, seeing if there is anyone in the area that has done these, or are intending to. Before I commit, i like to hear first-hand about the experience.

So for the hyperfest, you just sign up and get a random instructor for the 20 minute spins around the track?
You think its better to do the HPDE or the hyperfests? The HPDE seems like it could be alot to start out with.

I think the hyperdrive is a a waste of money. You get one session around the track and its usually follow the leader type slow laps which you won't get a good feel of the track. I would suggest doing a HPDE, get the 3 or 4 sessions and drive to your limit with an instructor.

Hyperfest is a good way to get your feet wet in the track. I did it 2 years ago and had a great time.
It's cheap compared to a true HPDE, but then it's also 20 mins vs. 2 days of track time.
It's like playing 9-holes of golf at a public course vs. playing 18-holes in the country club. Similar, but not exactly.
