How much did u pay for ur EVO and at what dealership?

So how much did u guys pay for ur EVO and what dealership did u get it from? How was the buying experience? Did they have a large selection of EVOs when u went there? and did they let u test drive b4 u buy? Sorry if this has been covered before but I need to do my homework so I can get the best deal on a EVO when I go out to buy one! Also, if any1 knows, which has the lowest financing rate?

You ought to check out dcevoclub.com for some info. I paid $500 below sticker in August from Sheehy. You should be able to do better than that. Pick a dealer where you like the service dept. I don't have any personal experience but I hear some folks like Rockville Mitsubishi.

Stohlman had a bunch of Evos sitting there. Also, I've heard they are getting a $1500 dealer incentive to move 2003 stock. Use that to your benefit. Shoot for something just above invoice.

stholman kind of pisses me off with their used evo's. They have like 2 there, both with around 5000 on the odometer and they want invoice price for them! That to me is ridiciulous, although that dealer incentive sounds nice.

I paid MSRP at stohlmans for the 1st one they ever received... this was back in april it think.... then promptly after they sold their 1st batch at MSRP, the entire sales staff changed and they started marking them up at 3k over. not sure whther to reccomedn them now.

Stohlman's in Tyson's corner has a bunch just sitting on the lot...it doesn't do them any good to have them sitting there...use thier desire to move them to your advantage...you shouldn't be paying sticker price at this point...

Drove to Columbia, SC (mostly to get a white one) at Jim Hudson Mitsubishi.

Sold to me for 27,959 out the door (no roof, didn't want it). Cost me for the gas and the 1 night in the hotel, but the fiance' and I enjoyed the night away, and I got my new Evo at a damn good price all in the same trip!

The first step to buying a car should be getting pre-approved from your own bank. Chances are, your bank will give you a better rate than dealerships are willing to offer you initially, as they make money by selling high rate financing too. It seems 3.9% is the norm for financing these days. Go get your credit score on http://www.transunion.com . If you score higher than 650, you should be fine for this low rate. Once you get pre-approved for the loan, you can head to the stealership. When the finance guy tells you he can only do 8.9%, you'll be able to tell him that you are financed at your own bank for 3.9%. Watch him scramble, and suddenly he'll magically be able to offer 3.7%.

Always have your guard up, to make sure the ball is in your court rather than theirs.

Here's some excellent reading to do before you buy a car
http://www.carbuyingtips.com

read all of the chapters. I learned quite a bit from it.
