Oh - lol - we got so much custard left still - its so damn good! Thanks again for bringing it.
Mobil 1 is NOT a synthetic oil, its a mix of conventional and synthetic - hence the change in the labeling, hence the change to the TRY-SYNTH name and bottle color, hence the law suit.
Amsoil makes 100% synthetic oil - it has for years - its an independent company that just makes good products.
This is a very touchy subject, people always argue about oils, I will not argue because I have used both, but AMSOIL is 100% authentic synthetic blend and Mobil 1 is not.
Try searching for amsoil on the internet - its liquid gold, believe me, I would never offer the deal if it was not great stuff.
Also, this oil change meets and exceeds all OEM service requirements!

From what I could tell on a lot of old postings on another board. True synthetics are made from polyalphaolephins. As a result, term synthetic does not tell anything anymore. Castrol Syntec uses a Group III hydrocracked base stock but call it synthetic. The Group III hydrocracked base stock is a super refined crude oil stock, i.e., dino. Mobil 1 lost that advertising battle in court against Castrol, so they started the tri-synthetic by mixing some Group III hydrocracked base stock in their "synthetic" oil. If you look at the Mobil 1 spec sheets on their Website, these oils are called hydrocarbons now. So now only Amsoil, Quaker State, Pennzoil, and Valvoline, plus a few others are truly "synthetic". Mobil 1 0W-40 is still a true synthetic also.. You can buy them at local Mobil Distributors. Adding the hydrocracked oils to the blend reduces the cost.

L-38 for bearing corrosion.
Sequence IIIF for oxidation, deposits and wear.
Sequence VG for sludge, wear and varnish.
Sequence II for rust.
Amsoil is great stuff, no doubt, and is probably of superior quality, but your claims about Mobil 1 are misleading.
