Its just a Teflon (PTFE) based wax. When they are talking about pattents (the pattent they are taking about is Dupont's pattent on Teflon) and the militaty aplications its all been done before. Every so often somebody makes a wax out of this stuff and claims that it will last forever. Several problems with this theory, one it doesnt last for $hit, and if they did create something that bonded to the paint that good there would be a problem with oxidation developing on the paint, underneath it. Teflon based waxes are okay but they will not make your car look as good as others such as Zymol. This is because waxes/conditioners like Zymol have oils in them that actually "feed" the paint.
The way to go is first use a clay bar, then a paint cleaner (like Maguires stage 1), then something to feed the paint (like Zymol), and then something seal it like Klasse or another acrylic based sealant.
I havent had to wax my car in 8 months and its still looks good (when I wash the damn thing).
If you are still hooked on the PTFE/Teflon stuff Dupont makes a wax/polish that you can buy just about anywhere for ~$7.

Rant over and out
