Having more than 5% on the rear should help that too though

I guess the fact that 5% of my rear pads are left, i suppose its just that they are garbage and isnt assisting the front.. could be a possibility as well.

I guess I don't know how you drive, but a single 100-60 braking period is not going to get the brakes super hot, even if you hit them at the last possible moment.

If you are doing that every 10-20 seconds then I guess I would expect you to be wondering why you only get 15mpg rather than why your brakes fade.

I don't think having 5% rear pad would make a difference, only once the pad is all the way gone will it significantly reduce how much help it gives the front brake. At that point you would hear them grinding.

So yeah, those are my thoughts on it.. Basically I'm not sure it's fading from the pads getting hot.

I've got a brand new set of Ferodo DS2500's for the front that I'd be willing to sell for $125 (for local pickup). I've run DS2500's on street/autocross with NO issues and DS3000's at the track with zero fade. I wouldn't use anything else.

Congrats to fcheng Pete. He officially got the last Tilton before the price increase from the manufacturer. I suspect they will be about $100 more from here forward.

The specs have changed as of June 2006. Hybrid twin now rated to 600tq crank, and the cerametallic twin as Dryad001, Yeti and fcheng have selected are rated to 740tq crank!

FYI.
