Bah, not midlife yet.

That's at like late 30's or early 40's... hence someone I WORK with who has, or IS buying an Evo.

Its cool to say you have 2 evos.. but if I truely had enough coin to want another 8k+ car, i'd prolly get a truck so i can use it with my house and haul stuff............

Alchy is suh a lucrative setup, I'm just too chicken isht to run it.

Lets see how well i can do. OK first you have to take a look at all of the pros and cons of what you want to run. Race gas is very good and will never fail, it just gets expensive and the costs to support race gas is also expensive. You have to figure in earlier 02 sensor failure, and trying to get the race gas smell out (i love that smell) and some other stuff im forgetting. And the best thing is you don't even need a tune for it but you wont get the full effect unless you do.

Now running alky/meth/water is a completely different beast. The best thing about it is it acts just like race gas to a certain degree. Depending what fluid you are using and how much you pound your car the cost might be in your favor. But you also have to pony up $400-600 before you even put a drop of anything into your motor. Now we can go onto pump failure. Yes it can happen, when I first put my kit in before I knew I had crappy wiring the pump would turn on and the all of a sudden quit in mid pull while the engine is leaned out. Not good. But I went back and re-wired the entire system and all was good. Then I found out in another pull I was getting random knock in different places in the rpm band. Hmm. So I went through the entire system again and low and behold there was a leak from the line. Not good. So I went with braided line, and then just yesterday I removed the boost switch from the system and let the UTEC run eveything, it just seemed a little more logical. And once again we have a working unit. Actually it works better than I expected.

I guess it comes down to how hard do you drive your car and how sneaky do you really want to be. Everyone can smell race gas, but if your just crusing down the road no one can smell the alky/meth because its not being injected into the car, then BAM you pull on them like a freight train.

Why did I buy alky injection? Not sure. I just wanted to try something different. Now that I am a "user" lol, it might be time to try something else and move in a different direction. Like i said I don't need to get rid of it but it the price is right I will part with it. I love tuning the car and alky is a small project where race gas is a dump and go. Race gas is very easy to tune, but alky is a little tricky at times this is the type of tuning I like to do. It's kinda wierd that once i finally have the alky just the way I want it might be sold???

This is the best explanation I can give right now and I leave with this. You can't go wrong with either, just a matter of preferance.
