Actually the LS1 is a very potent motor most people dont realize the capabilities of it. I like the ingenuity of it, but not my cup of tea. Plus that guy who started the thread either needs more english classes or a different language conversion software.

I Really want to start tearing apart the Z06 we have sitting up north, i think those motors are GREAT plateforms. LOTS OF POWER WAITING TO BE UNLEASHED

Man i love the top end of cams, the 272s idle is a lil rough but besides that i love em!
Now that i found out the exact rev limiter along with that the top speed limiter was taken off by AMS i have been pushing it farther into redline than usual! I think that is the reason for my notchy tranny as of late.
Ive got to say, freeway onramps are becoming my best friend, along with that tunnel to go 43north a lil north of downtown

My car idles like stock . Only the BIG lift cams have problems idling these days.
I'm pretty positive the evo never had a top speed limiter (at least from previous speeding experiance)

He should talk to the LS1-evo guy and make a all wheel conversion for those poor traction disadvantaged muscle car drivers.

Yeah i don't know how many times i heard that one. So you gonna take it out to autox it or it's just sit in the garage to look pretty? Z06 really dominate the raw times out there.

so get this....,
I went to Checker on 76th and Capital to pick up a few things, oil being the main pickup. I got a case of Mobil 1 15w 50, 2 terry towels, some spray wax, a mobil 1 oil filter and a bigger jar of Mothers polish. Went to the register where a rather wierdo guy was there checking me out. As he was scanning i noticed the register showed the case of oil as 1 quart not 1 case. He said "$37.56" so i thought.. oh snap this guy didnt even think about the oil at all. Rang up at 6.99 for the whole thing. I paid him took my receipt and left. I was laughin outloud as i walked to the car.
Oh and to boot, they didn';t have a filter guide for the oil filter since i usually just recheck the number on it when i buy it. I think its 108 series and went to the guy and said, "can u look up the number on this for me to make sure its the right one?" He looked it up and said, "the computer says that Mobil 1 doesn't even make a filter for your car." I actually saw the register showing the results and sure ****, the 2006 IX SE shows no Mobil 1 filter! LOL!! It's OEM to boot... isn't that F'd up?? haha.. thught it was pretty funny, but took the 108 model since i still think its the right number i needed from my 03.

You should be using 10w30 not 15w30, especially for a northern climate car. It is too thick and can cause oil pump problems and excessive pressure.
Secondly, Mobil1 does not make a filter for the Evo. The Evo uses an OEM Mitsubishi filter MZ690116 filter. You should only use the OEM MZ690116 filter.

i've always used the Mobil 1 filter for YEARS and never had an issue with it. Also i've ran the 15w 50 weight for equally as long if not longer in my eclipse and my evo VIII. Interesting comments. The OEM filter i agree its not the mobil 1 filter but they do make one and have.

ok interesting find i just looked up:
Mobil 1 filter:
2003 recommended M108
2006 IX SE - nothing listed
2006 IX MR M110
2006 IX - M110
Why would the filter change from different years and be listed on every model but the SE? Very wierd!!
