Hey guys quickie question.

Today while out for a spirited drive. keeping in mind I have all seasons on, that shoule be rated for 168mph,

I wound it up a bit, and heard a God awaful squeeling/groaning sound from the front left corner. i eased out of the gas, and it was kind of pulling to the left a bit, but that went away quickly.

I expected to see a damaged tire, but when I stopped and had a look, it was all good. The last time i heard anything like this is when with my 05 after an intercooler install, I took the car for a spin to make sure there was no boost leaks, and had the front bumper off, and the inner plastic fender well folded over into the tire and howeled a bit at liek 80mph.

I have had this car to speed before with Advans on, never heard anything like that, could this just be a tire thing, or what the hell else could that have been. I think the tire may have grown perhap at speed and maybe was rubbing the strut.

I am just looking for anyones thought. no rub marks anywhere, I will pull tire off tomorrow and look at inside edge.

Hey Bill do you happen to have a NHRA handbook or rulebook? I need to look it over quickly. And who are you going to to get your chassis certified?

I highly doubt the chassis been certified in the last 6 years. I know its suppose to be every 3 but I just want to make sure the cage is up to snuff.

Bill, I have had the plate behind the rotor squeal when touching the rotor before. It sounds horrible but just give it a push back around all the edges to be sure it's not touching.

No I dont have one. I dont have a cage in it at the moment and it never had one. I have one paid for already, I need it to go there for measure and bending, but it needs to get to Spring Green.

Well I went out and looked more closely. the tired had failed. you can see cracking between every tread. I went around and looked at the rest of them, they are all fine, no cracking at all. Just that one. I am glad it gave me a few more seconds before it let go. It got me home and still is holding air, but it is definitly toast.
