What if you could care less about phones as long as they work?
I guess if your work required features that certain phone provides...otherwise, what's the big deal?
Or am I just old/stupid/all of the above?

Depends on what your hobbies are. If you like tech/gadgets then you probably have a phone with a data package of some sort...texting at least.
Side note, we should be dropping off our accepted counter offer on a house tonight...hooray...no more ****ty neighbors after 2 more months.

Thanks, I'll try and get some pictures this weekend since I would like to walk through and take some measurements for washer/dryer.
Just awaiting final verbal confirmation tomorrow but the accepted offer has been faxed/delivered to the builder so it should be all set.
I'll post up more info once it's 'official'

Damn, I'm jealous. Congratulations though!
A house is another item on the list for 2009.
House before iPhone. New snowboard before iPhone too.

Congrats laak! Make sure to write a nice letter to tell your neighbors about how wonderful they are
I think its time for me to buy a single family and rent out my whole duplex Or just sell my Duplex and put all that wonderful cash that I built in equity into a new nice home with windows that dont suck in the winter.
Mike why did you get rid of the 850r?

Ok, it's official, we have an accepted offer. I should get some pics tomorrow. Here are the highlights.
- New construction in a 80% full subdivision, only 2 neighbors so far and about 1.5 miles from highway
- 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 3 car garage, full basement
- egress window in basement so house will be 4 bedrooms end of this summer
- ~1560 square feet
- All new Pella windows, gridded front windows
- Maple kitchen cabinets and trim throughout house
- solid 6 panel doors internally
- gas fireplace in living room corner
- patio doors (i have to build a deck once lawn fills in)
- lifetime water garauntee on basement
- 9ft ceilings in basement with those silent floor joists for main level (like wood I-beams).
- Full stainless steel GE kitchen appliance package with side by side fridge that has ice/water in door
- credit on closing costs towards having landscaper come in and grade/seed lawn in the spring.
There will be a lot of things to do, even with a new house, but should be a fun project over the next few years.
