^ On the stock turbo with a TBE and CAMs your boost will still taper even with a MBC. The turbo simply cannot feed enough air to keep the motor pressurized. If you don't have cams then you might be able to hold a bit more than stock but it isn't gonna do much good.

The ECU can be tuned to deliver more boost but it requires modifying the boost pills located in the vacuum lines or switching to a GM3 port "BCS". If you are tinkering with your own tune, this is the best way to control boost.

I've run an EVO9 turbo on an EVO8. No need for new lines but you will need a new outlet pipe to avoid grounding out on the starter. The lines work with very little modification. You should get new crush washers. They can be picked up at hardware stores for 15 cents each.

If you buy the 9 turbo from someone, just make sure you get the outlet pipe with it (mine came with it).

What crush washers are you talking about? The washers on the banjos don't crush.

You see my handy dandy track dates thread?

I'd like to get a Mid-Ohio in this year, along with some BHF and Autobahn.

AMS full track at Road America, on May 25th... you won't feel slow there.

Anyone have a link for required track-day equipment? Is it just helmet, 5pt & harness bar? How about AutoX? Is a harness bar needed?

It's just a helmet for most events.

Be careful about a harness and harness bar. Anything larger than an AutoX and I would never, ever, use a harness w/ just a bar. You need some roll over protection at that point.

I've even heard it go as far as some tech inspectors at real tracks won't allow harnesses w/o some sort of cage.

Also, don't forget your standard items: water, tools, chairs, etc.

So for the Shawano day, just a helmet would be OK, or are you suggesting more?

Yes... and the other items like water, etc.

I would really not suggest Shawano w/ just a harness bar... the roll over potential at that track is pretty high, albeit, lower speeds.

Just b/c i made my car a fun weekend car doesn't mean you have to give me a hard time

And i've had some financial set backs...

If you didn't notice i've had to replace my entire drivetrain in the last year b/c 600whp apperently doesn't go well with 6 speeds
