They're doing a pressure check now just to ensure all of the IC unions are leak-free. Yeah Nick, study up on that cam install... Today will give us a good baseline to see later on what the unproven Kelford 270/260s can do (once the bank account recovers that is.)
I was at the shop to check out Nick's work & your car...Pete was talking me into boring his extra manifold and putting in cams-don't tempt me!

I'm gonna take a look at the service manual when I have a chance.
They probably have also changed the tensioner tools.

I think the Edmunds Inside Line long-term Evo X GSR had pretty good results with Cosworth cams. I've seen some posts with Kelford too...I guess time will tell.

I dont think so moss, I am going to try to make it a point to get some good video footage this year. My problem is I always feel like something bad is going to happen since I used to always be at the wrong place at the right time (for the sheriff that is). Last year, Laak tried filming me racing a brand new E55amg from my passenger seat, the footage was junk so we scrapped it. I blew the guys doors off anyways so it wasn't that great. I remember he asked if I had nitrous and I laughed and said all boost.

Checking wastegate now.
I know JUN has a new offering for the X. I think it's in the X engine parts forum.
Could the blow-off valve be the limiting factor? I'll shut my mouth...I'm sure AMS knows what they're doing.

The newer (metal) stock valves hold better than the plastice ones used on the 8's. I'm not sure how high they are rated, but mine didn't leak when I ran a boost leak test to 25psi.

The blow off valve would have leaked in the pressure test if it was a factor. Tappering boost is usually due to the wastegate spring or boost controller. It is a TD05 turbo so a tapper is expected due to the lack of exhaust housing on stock style turbos. Unless you cool the charged air more and/or cool the burn (higher octane fuel) the turbo just might not be efficient enough to hold higher boost levels.
They just can't hold boost like a T3/T4 exhaust housing
