It's interior is not any better than the evo, the seats really suck. It's very difficult to drive fast, but a lot of fun once you can. It is a lot prettier than the evo.
I drove Hille's ZO6 and after coming from an evo, the first thing i found myself doing is having to go hand over hand around every turn. There was too much slop in the steering. The seats felt cheap, didn’t hold you in at all. But the torque was tons of fun.

I wish I had cruise. Hated driving 8 hours straight and cramping up just keeping the throttle constant.

Think I will put cruise in after warranty. lol

I'll sell you an Evo with cruise, I take trade-ins, and you don't have to worry about the warranty either .

Yeah, I'm not that worried about 20hp, but I hadn't heard about the oil pump thing. Was that just '01?

Seats would be the first thing to go if I bought one. Wait, that would bump me up in autoX class, right? I had always heard vettes were pretty easy to drive, but maybe that was compared to a viper or something, haha.

The miles don't scare me all that much. I saw an '01 under $20k with only 4k miles, but then you know it's been sitting for long periods of time.

Yeah, that might bother me. I thought the same thing going to the X from an VIII. It's still not bad, but I don't think there are many cars that can match the steering quickness of the old evos.

out of all the RWD cars I've driven, the Z06 I thing was the most easy to manage. I think its because you have instant torque and that’s easier to predict. a few RWD cars I drove didn’t have power till I got up in the power band so it would be more of a surprise.

I've heard the steering has been MUCH improved on the newer model vettes compared to the 01's.

What rwd cars are you comparing it to Andy? I found Tom's car to have incredible steady state grip but a combination of that instant torque and vague steering made it very unpredictable and difficult to control in transitions. Autocrossing it was brutal. I think that's why you don't see too many of them on the autocross scene.

Ryan I think what you need is a nice neon.

A lotus is a little different being mid engined. But yes, I imagine the bigger the track the easier the Z06 gets.

I drove a C6 at autocross and loved it. It rode beautifully (it had the active suspension) and after powering through a curve it would snap back into line as easy as my Evo.

Yeah, the 'test drive' is almost finished . Would you really want to sell it though?

Well people. I think I figured out what company Im going with.

http://www.factoryfive.com/roadster/.../whatiget.html

Not a bad price for everything you get. I have a line on a 416ci stroker along with trans and rear end. Screw all your Z06's and Elise garbage. Whats better than home built?

I figure it will take me about 1.5 years to put it all together.

The Mk3 Complete kit gives you everything you need to build your car, in one big package. The only things you’ll need are the engine/transmission/rear end, wheels/tires, and a paint job.
ha, they give you everything except.... I thought that was funny.

personally id rather buy a car all built with warranty. no wrench time, just fun time behind the wheel.

I thought about buying a used one as well. It would be a lot cheaper though, but I havent found any I like. Im not fond of the Ford 5.0 at all, and I think it is far too underpowered.

I want more of the authentic look. Im trying to be done with EFI.

I want to. I might need to persuade my wife a little though.
