And I'm thinking of doing a small battery upgrade and replacing all of the intercooler piping, but which setup is better? The Bushcur Racing or AMS Performance? I know everyone is going to say AMS is the best, but is it actually worth paying that much or is it so expensive just because it has the AMS brand?
Small battery is not an upgrade, it's the half-assed way to get a more direct IC pipe path to the throttle body. If you want to do it right, keep a normal-size battery and relocate it to the trunk.

TractionLimit's IC pipe kit from Ultimate Racing is the best-fitting and nicest-looking aftermarket kit I've ever seen. I was drooling over that kit. However, I haven't seen dyno comparisons of it with Buschur or AMS.

I can't wait to autox tonight. Don't have to worry about wearing out my tires and it's a way bigger course.

I just took the X out for a spin and it was kinda boring. That is easily the best winter setup I've ever driven.

Boring? You weren't going fast enough! J/K.

I decided on the drive home that I'm going to buy my third set of snow tires for this car soon (wow, that'll make six total sets of tires purchased in <29K!). V-steins aren't cutting it, I'm sorry to say. Now the only question is, do I sacrifice any high speed dry potential for total snow and ice domination (WS60s), or go with another set of performance-snows since it really is dry here most of the winter...

Alex how are yours on dry roads? I'm okay with a little 'squishy', as long as they don't feel 'unsafe' at speed.

I probably wasn't driving fast enough. But I was out driving my visibility.

The ws60s do feel pretty squishy in the dry. Not unsafe but they don't have good road feel. Bear in mind they I have them on sligbhtly too wide of a wheel. If you want to try them in the dry then by all means come try them.

So the Ulitmate Racing IC kit does not need a small battery kit right? I think I might get it cause I only hear good things about it from little research I've done. It's this kit right? :

Looks pretty damn sturdy when it comes to the welds too. Thanks for the info cause I really didn't want to have to run a small battery

I haven't seen an UR kit on an VIII or IX yet, but on TractionLimit's X, it didn't require any significant relocation or modification.

I'm really surprised you don't like the Vredesteins. Do you have the Wintrak Extreme? (I think that's how they spell it)

I fell in love with Evo and the Vredesteins all over again last night. The setup plows through whatever I throw it in.

LOVE the Evo with WS50's .. however, seems about identical grip wise as my S4 and brand new Pirelli all-seasons...im thinking its really more to do with the Traction Control and electronic brake distribution, and the extra 800lbs in weight....however, the EVO is point and shoot in this stuff...taking corners, gas, you are off....oh how i've missed snow tires on the evo!!

Ryan, what shape are your Vredesteins in? Cause I would trade you my Dunlop M3 in a heart beat. And se question with Nick, are they WinTrac Extremes or all season tires?
