Is this roll cage for a track only car? Roll cages are a horrible idea for a street driven car unless you and all your passengers want to wear helmets on every trip.

it'll be for a track car. everything is gutted out (no back seats so no passengers to worry about) and there's a harness bar already. it's daily driven days are pretty much over so i know it won't be comfortable or a luxury. i guess i don't really need a cage and i'll just return the one i bought that doesn't fit. i just thought it would "toughen" the frame and make a more solid car and be less like a rocket propelled coke can (which it feels like sometimes).

I could help you out with the cage. There is no doubt that it will stiffen the chassis, and improve the safety. What kind of racing do you plan on doing??

Well, the Evo is gone and has found a new home around the area here. The new owner has another busted '05 Evo now and wanted an '03 for the better/less maintenance drive train. I'll be picking up my new to me car next Saturday.
