Is shawano a gokart track? Whats the total length? EVOizmm, what did you do to your evo to make it track ready? On my s2000s brakes were a must change pre-tracking, are there any major concer areas on the evo that should be upgraded before tracking?

yes its a big gokart track. its about a mile long.
you could bring a 100% bone stock evo to shawano and it'd be fine. some fresh brake fluid (or race fluid) wouldnt be a bad idea along with some better pads.
my evo has stock rotors with PFC 97 pads and ATE super blue brake fluid. that and some race tires is all one really needs.
thanks, thats a treck for a short course but good price for some track time. What sanctioning bodies are there in the midwest for lapping days? out west we had speedventures, is there anyone like that organizing events in the summer, or just through the various clubs?

If any one in here is interested, Me, Tom, and Ken will be going to the Shawano Lapping Day on Nov. 7th. So if you wanna head up there with us, let me know.
And thus Sat. and Sun. I will be out at miller park attending the last 2 SCCA events if anyone else wants to join, I'll be driving the evo that day.

Ken - I will be driving my own X on both days, since I found out that there is another shawano event this Nov. 7th. I mounted a set of 2 year old 245 Dunlop Star Specs. I wish I had some 265 or 275s, but all wheel drive might work out better this weekend I think.
And for you guys that's gonna race this weekend, you'll be seeing me at registration, I work with onsite registrations for SCCA.

Might need some rain tires to go fast this weekend

As long as there isn't a lot of standing water (puddles) the A6's will still be faster than street tires.
Back when I was running r-comps on my evo some of my biggest wins came from leaving the r-comps on when everyone else had switched back to street tires because it was either too cold or too wet.
