There may be a fingerprint on the tow hook painted red. I would blame Ian...I owe u several beers, but for no particular reason though.

Question for all of you guys. I recently noticed that, when driving over a rough road or a bump, or even when just backing out of my driveway, I hear a few low thuds coming from underneath the car. Sounds like it's right in the middle. I checked underneath and didn't see anything blatantly out of place, but I'm no mechanic so I may have just not noticed something. Anyone have any suggestions what it might be? Nothing seems to be affected by it, steering is fine and the wheel doesn't shake at all. If the road is smooth, life is good. But even smaller bumps cause a few thuds.... Thanks!

Only thuds/clunks I can think of would be something connecting to the wheel. Like a bad wheel bearing, bad ball joint, etc.
It may sound like it's in the middle because the clunking vibration goes throughout the entire chassis but the problem might be within just one wheel. Like how my wheel bearing on the left/rear of my car is bad. I was getting vibrations and I thought it was my rear diff so I replaced the diff and still got the problem.

Check your struts... This is exactly what I experienced, sounded like driveline or motormounts or exhaust rattle but eneded up being a blown strut. jack up the car and inspect for seepage on the strut cylinder. My .02...

Would the car ride any different with a blown/leaking strut? She still seems to ride normal....

You probible wont notice unless your drive someone elses evo or even dare i say subie. The cars springs are so stiff that when the strut slowly starts gooing bad you wont notice because the springs will still keep it from rolling horribly or ridding like a rusty bonneville.
