The 10.5 hotside is DEFINATELY worth it. If you have an 03/04 this should be your next mod.

I purchased mine from www.dyno4mance.com. Very fast shipping and a fair price.

If you install it like the how-to tells you to there's no need for new gaskets.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...hlight=hotside

I noticed next to no lag but one hell of a nice midrange boost. Its MUCH more enjoyable to drive.

Its a $250 mod that you can do yourself in 3 hours and pick up nearly 20HP.

The stiffy engine dampener is also a nice addition.

He is controlling with a Hallman MBC, nice peace, he will be fine since you don't have to worry about wastgate control

no offense Jeff but i think that mounts should be relaced in the car before adding the stiffy. The stock monts on my '03 were junk after about 15k-17k miles. In which case when adding the stiffy your just beating around the bush from something that has to be replaced anyways

Here is another question. I don't have the walbro and I was tuned by Al without it and am running fine. If I get and install the hotside will this affect that by making me need a fuel pump? If I need a pump and get a pump then my tune will be all out of whack...and I don't want that.

I found this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...e+install+tips

****, those sensors look liek a PITA
We did a 10.5 hotside swap yesterday here in the shop and it was very easy. Took 4 hours and we were taking pictures of everything and taking our time.

I believe that wastegate duty cycle is controled through that little boost pill in the stock lines off the actuator(with MBC only) EDIT * EBC usually has duty cycle control

If you have an MBC or EBC no problem, but if the flash is controlling your boost then you may need to have that changed because I beleive the ECU controls wastegate duty cycle rather than boost numbers.

Laakness, I have no idea what your boost control method is, and I could very well be wrong about it. Someone with more experience should chime in.... Dryad?
I believe he's running a Hallman RX boost controller.

Awesome, thanks everyone for the help. I'm sure I'll need more once I get it and need to install it though

Fireball, would you recommend pulling the downpipe and O2 housing to get the hotside out? I'm going to be using the stock O2 housing so it sounds like I'll need to get a dremel to hone it out to exactly match the hotside.

It also looks like if I leave the compressor in the car from the link I posted earlier I won't have to remove any oil lines or need the oil gaskets. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If your mounts are junk then yes. My mounts were fine.

The stiffy got rid of drivetrain lash and shifting feels more crisp.

As for the hotside, Just do it like the how-to I posted and you wont need any gaskets. Very easy thing to install. My stock O2 housing was on the nuts and needed no porting at all.

MOSS - get your **** to the Autobahn event!!!!

Hehe, awesome. I had posted that same link earlier this morning. I guess it's a good tutorial then.

No M-Rated helmets... I'm not splashing out for an SA helmet for 1 event.
Although with our annual gingerman event cancelled this year and no ice racing events are already looking a bit thin.

BUT.... We have plenty of Shawano events scheduled... I will be there for all of those and hopefully will be able to do something with timing to settle this Zoey vs. Darth vs. Pikachu vs. whatever Erik buys argument once and for all. I'm sure Erik will win it all, even if he's driving a kia.. He can just flat out drive.

Well it took me about 45 minutes to do the mount, would have been less if I didn't take 2 smoke breaks. Very easy to do the hardest part is getting the old mount out, But I found a little trick if you don't have a press.
