FYI: Next Sunday, the 12th, I'm pullin the turbo on my MR and putting on some new goodies. If anyone wants to come watch, or make it somewhat of a mini-meet, you're welcome.

Thanks guys - Yes, I’ll take the help even though it's pretty easy. Still sometime's intimidating since it's my first go-around.

Voodooutt - I do have a heavy duty jack and tools. Just need a hand and some guidance. I'll give you a call tonight or tomorrow.

If you don't have one, a robogrip is very useful for pushing the pistons back into the caliper.

Thanks for the pointer. I don't have any specialty tools for the job so that's good to know.

Anything like this will work. http://www.robogrip.com/products01.html

Just squeeze the brakepad against the caliper before you take it out. Another method is to take the pad out, then put it back in sideways and use it as a prybar to squeeze the pistons back in. But I always use the robogrip.

Oh yeah, this one is easy to forget, after you have replaced the pads and first time you start the car BEFORE YOU MOVE press the brake pedal a few times until it firms up. Before you pull the wheels off put a sticky note on the steering wheel to remind you. Because it is easy to forget and scary when you do.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for bleeding the brakes? I know I can get speedbleeders but some people claim they are crappy and some say they are the bomb.

Wait, are you talking a speed bleeder as in a special valve or as in the pressurized tank you attach to the reservoir?

I have never used the valves, but the tank works great.. I'm looking for one now. I don't remember who makes the one we have.

This is it. I guess it's a power bleeder not a speedbleeder. http://www.eurosportacc.com/brakebleeder.htm

I hear Mike takes his turbo off every night before he goes to bed, you two should just swap cars so that you can stop by his house after he falls asleep and itll be less work for you
