alright, i have a scenario for you peoples.....
finally got a hold of Al at Dynoflash. the custom flash that was previously on my car is garbage because of the way the car was setup and running at the time. he suggests coming in for a custom tune, of course. he's coming to chicago on the 29th. $300 for a 2 hr custom tune. my question is this, since i am a broke **** mo fo, would i be able to pull the xede out now so i could sell it prior to all this, or would that mess my ecu and car up even more than it is now???

I would think the stock ECU could handle your mods. Obviously wouldn't be running great/optimal with the xede out but would get you to Chi town for the custom flash.
Or, you could download your ECU with the tactrix cable and email it to him for a $50 base flash for all of your mods. Might not be "custom" but it would take into account your setup.
After seeing voodoo's custom tune and my custom tune there wasn't much difference for the money we forked out having different mods at the time of the flash :-/
Don't get me wrong, he does a great job. But for $50 bucks it's a ton cheaper. If you were to do the email flash are you able to turn off the xede so you're running on just the ecu?

right now the xede isn't loading its map or working properly anyways. so the stock ecu has the xede info on it that is needed to run the xede. so i'm not sure if there would be any difference at all. and as far as a mail in, i asked him about it. he remembers the car from when the previous owner had it. it said he wouldn't recommend it with the turbo kit i had on there. apparently there aren't many RnR fans around.

Ah, true. I forgot you had a turbo. A custom tune would be best.
Also, don't worry about the timing of him coming down. AMS is always in Chicago

HAHA....AMS wants $250/hr to do dyno/tuning. with no guarantee on how long it would take. the $300 price Al is asking for this trip is still $100 less than a normal custom tun per his website

Hey, you do what you feel is best. I don't know how much Al is "on the books" so he can just throw any price around for a tune. I paid 375 for my custom last year.
I'm just backing away from him a bit because I don't agree with a lot of his actions and business marketing. He's a good tuner but I'm taking my base maps and modifying them myself once I get an innovative wideband

Oh dont get me wrong, he is probably the best for stock injector tunes. I can elaborate more when I get home, work is kinda busy and I dont have timw to write out a big elaborate post. so the short ones will have to do for now.

before we get into our opinions about Al's tuning abilities, i just want to throw the main question out there again. since the xede ain't doing a damn thing for me now anyways, would it be ok to remove it and sell it for the cash before all this were to happen??
