so, with all you camera guru's in here, i figure this would be a good place to start asking around. probably going to look into getting a good camcorder soon. any suggestions?? i just want to make sure it's something that will be easy to get vid on the pc. other than that, i don't think i car about options

A JVC MiniDV should do the trick just fine for around $300

Thats not too bad, it looks like it is $700 online. I wouldn't mind a dvd system in mine eventually. I wonder if you can get a double din one and have it permenantly in the dash.

Just about any digital camcorder will download to your pc through a USB or firewire port. I like Sony but what ever you get I would make it small; small camcorders are easy to carry so you would probably use it more. The quality will be good in most, better if you want to pay more $$. Look for one that has a decent optical zoom, not digital zoom. Optical zoom relies on the lens and is clear, digital uses the electronics and is pixilated.

My last day at work is wednesday, the only day I have off is thursday and then Im leaving on friday morning.

are you looking for crisp clear quality or a run of the mill camera?

if you want something that will give GREAT video and not be a rediculous amount i would suggest a Canon GL1 its a great camera
