I just did a weekend of test driving cars. Out of all of the cars around that range I liked the passat the best feature wise. I wouldn't personally buy one but that thing was loaded for the price. Why does she want a speed 6? I suppose it's a good car, I've heard good things, but for 30k?

the dealer will sell him one for 21K, it not the grand touring model but that is 7K off retail.
