I know it reads below that but just not on the gauge. The XD-1 i am using reads to 7.4 but at that afr the car I'm sure would run like poop. I have a new timing map for myself that will most likely put me right at the 400 mark I'm almost sure of it. Since when we finished up the WR install my afrs were in the low 10's now I have a pretty nice tune for sfrs but still a littlw on the rich side on the lower rpms but nothing 2-3 runs cant fix.

When I went for a couple of pulls last night it pulled so f'en hard, all I can say is damn. I had a slight loss of traction in 2nd for about a second then it felt I was shot out of a gun. Now I know me being me this thrill will only last for a few weeks then there is the quest for more. I have yet to hook up the alky, but it seems with the mods I have it will net about another 50-60whp on average. I feel that I can tune the UTEC quite well and can't wait to go the next step. Firenuts if you want a ride in the new tune I'm sure that even you will be able to tell a difference.

Here is a log of mine from yesterday, Ill try to explain everything. Nez if you can post up some of your logs as well and i can point out the difference between the 2. This is a 3rd gear pull

OK guys, mike, as you know, i am having a LOT of problems getting my labtop to see the USB port that im connecting my Utec or wideband to. For those of you who are not sure how this all works or what im talking about, let me explain. The Utec to PC connection is done VIA Serial port (RS-232 or better known as DB9). most labtops only have one serial port on them which you CAN'T split into 2, why would i need 2 you ask? well in order to log my wideband (AEM UEGO) I have to connect this to a serial port as well. Thanks to the high caliber individuals that design these things we can get Serial TO USB adapters which will make one of the USB ports on the Labtop into another Serial and then boom, you got your datalogging capabilities! My prob is that after loading the drivers into my labtop and hooking everything up i can't connect to whatever device im hooking up through the Serial to USB! Keep in mind i do have Windows 98 on a computer that is really only worth about $100 but it gets the job done with tunning. Do any of you know how the hell i can get this all to work? I've hooked the Utec and Uego up one at a time in the Serial port on the computer and they both work fine but not when i hook both up

Will either of them work while they are both plugged in or are they both failing? If only one fails which one is it (serial connector or USB connector)?

If I were to guess I would say that both ports are trying to grab COM1, try seeing if you can switch the COM port that the USB device is trying to acess.

Do both fail when you plug them both in or does only one?

To change the COM port (and I'm giving these instructions off the top of my head so bear with me):

Go into Control Panel
Double click on 'System'
Click on the hardware tab
Click on device manager

With any luck you will see an icon with a little yellow mark next to it meaning that it isn't working properly. Right click on that icon and select properties, somewhere in there there should be an option for which COM port it uses. Don't change any other setting.

================================================== =============

Another theory I just had was that whatever software you are using for the wideband (assuming this is what's plugged into the USB port) is just trying to use COM1. Maybe hunt around in the options/preferences/communications menu's of the software and see if you can change the COM port it is trying to use in there.

Good luck.

ok, I would set that to COM2 or COM4, then make sure that your setting in the Wideband/UTEC software (whichever is plugged into the USB) matches this setting.

Then you should be good to go!
