I'm on stainless lines and ATE blue. The fluid should have nothing to do with the pedal feel, and it worked just fine this time out on the track. I need to bleed again, cause it still feels like there is air in there. After two thorough bleedings you wouldn't think there would be any.

Eli, what pads are you considering that would offer more bite?

 

You guys better sign up soon if you want to go, it's a cross-over event (OH/IN and Midwest regions) and hear it is already filling up fast.

The pads I'm considering are Hawk DTC-60's. They aren't cheap though. There are a few others that I'm going to look into also.

 

Keep me posted I might want to try something else as well.

It seems many like the Raybestos ST43's. I guess they are under 200 for a set of front for NASA members. I might also look into the XP10's.

 

What clutch are you guys running? It's clutch time here soon and I want to know if anyone is running the ACT HDSS setup.

Meh, I drove one and didn't like it too much. Too much noise on decel and it doesn't like the slipping too much. I love the ACT 2600 in my DSM, I just want to make sure I can shift that b1tch on the track.

 

I was going to get the ACT and a lightweight flywheel but the posts talking about high rpm lockout detered me
It now doesn't seem to be as big an issue...at least you don't hear people complaining like before.
I also run an Exedy twin. I'm happy with it. IMO, it is pretty easy to drive. It does have a little decel noise though.

my brakes are noisy, but they stop like mad, my BOV is loud, scares small children... my exhaust is loud, but people ask me about my v8

 

Yeah I think all the high RPM lockout was probably from idiots that installed it wrong or didn't know how to adjust it properly. I just like the feel of a strong pressure plate on a full faced organic disk cause you can slip it at high RPM. And $750 shipped for a clutch and flywheel makes me happier in pants than $1200+ shipped for the twin disk. I want to drive one before I buy it though. You guys are useless.

 

There is a Whte 8 that goes to Auto X every once in a while. He is an older Oriental gentlemen (sorry I don't remember his name) we put a 2600 and fidanza fly in his and it felt great. Quite, good engagement, quick revs. I don't know how it will hold up on a road course though. I would imaine the heat could promote wear and possible slipping issues later into the session. Aslo, this guy had nearly no mods. The ACTs are good for minor mods, but once you get close to 400 whp....forget about it I say.

Speaking of the land of sand...go to this web site and check out the "Sand Box Racers". That is us here in Kuwiat racing Nitro RC trucks. I have to get my racing fix some how and talk about a blast to do. Takes away from the stresses of the military life too.
