I am now a dad!

I would like to announce the birth of my wife and I's first child. He was born 6/26/07 at 3:17pm and weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and was 19 1/2" long. The pregnancy and birth were without complications and he is completely healthy. I am so excited. I would always love to go to the grocery store just for a chance to drive the Evo. However, we got home and needed a few things and I couldn't wait to get home. I already have the "Baby on Board" window stickies and my wife told me to get the matching Recaro child seat. I have never felt like I do, its simply amazing what joy a child can bring to your life. You can see him at...

He is under our names, Jason and Dawn.

Just counting the days.......The 28th can not get here soon enough. I will be leaving Kuwait on the 20th. Takes 2 days to travel. Then I am stuck at a mobilization station until the 28th. Then finally I will be home.

Last post over a week ago. Where did everyone go? Is there no drag racing/auto-x/roadracing going on? I'll be trying to stay ahead of the Vettes and the Viper this weekend at Mid Ohio....

I'm still depressed I can't go to Mid-O this weekend
There is an autox at Scarlet Oaks this Sunday. Maybe I can at least make it there. I'll be going to Mid-O in August for sure.

Got a question for you all....

I got a set of 18x9 +30 offset wheels. What size tires could I run and get full advantage of the width? No I am not telling you all what brand...you will have to wait and see.

I want to run as wide of tire as possible. When compared to stock size the 265/35/18 is the closest in diameter to stock but I believe the rim size needs to be at least 9.5 inches for the 265 to fit without bulging the side walls. I believe the 255 would fit the 9 inch width a bit better but there isn't an aspect ratio that brings the tire to close to stock size. Can you all see my problem? I am rather certain I will have to roll the fenders and Q panels. Eli, you still have that roller?

I only rented the roller. So I only had it a week. You can run a 265/35 no prob. on the 9" rim. Right now I have A048's 265/35's on my 18x9.5's. I run 285/30 Hoosiers on them though without bulging..so a 265 on a 9" rim would be ok. Really there aren't any good options as far as a high performance 18" tire in the 255 width. The sizes with the most choices is 245, 265, 275, 285. I'm surprised you got 18x9's considering you were talking about using 285/30's eventually.
With 265's with the right rim it wouldn't take much rolling to get them to fit. When you get into the big sizes the fitment in the front can be the trickiest. You have to worry about contacting the coilover spring, inner liner (not to mention the sharp metal under the liner), clearing the brakes, clearing the fender lips, etc. You get the idea
