Greg,

You sure are living the dream. I thought since you rolled your fenders that you could at least run 265s. I think it is time for you to start searching for fenders and 10 inch wide wheels so you can run some 275s. I know they still are not vette standard, but they would be a lot better than just 245s.

Greg,

I wanted to tell you....I have a set of genuine Brembo brake spacers that will allow the usage of larger diameter rotors. They are yours if you want them as I know I will never use them. This could help with your rotor problems.

With all due respect guys, if I could afford the points hit to run bigger tires they would be on there already. I am maxed out point-wise in my class as the car sits right now. The next class up would also require big power mods to be competitive.

You do NOT need fenders to run 275's or 285's. I also did not get my hands on the roller when Eli rented it, bad timing and too many people needing it. So, the car will finish the season as-is.

My rotor problem is a just bad rotor Paul, thanks for the offer though. The stock calipers and rotor size are PLENTY for the track. I'll be calling DBA in the morning to see what they have to say. MANY MANY thanks to Dave for the rotor delivery this morning!!

Soo as for today, I finished 3rd but didn't run any faster than yesterday. Had a blast in the pace car - all 4 races had at least one double yellow so we were very busy. I worked the radios for the first 3 races and drove the 4th. Next month I'll probably drive all the races and then start driving and doing radios. It's way more work than I thought, so much going on in such a short time. I've been offered the opportunity to be THE pace car driver for the OH/IN region next year if I want it. And just to think it was only a couple weeks ago that I figured next season I would be instructing!

Greg, you need to post a picture of your crack. Oh, that doesn't sound good...

Tire tires Tires.....I am in the hunt. These are my narrowed down choices. What would you get?

Falken Azines
Kuhmo MX
Hankook Ventus RS2
Falken 542

These will be going on my 18s for more cruising and such. I want to have nearly the same appeal as the stock Advans. I might AutoX on the at times too.

Paul, search Grassroots Motorsports online and find the tire shoot out article. The Azenis won against some very expensive competitors. I have a set going on my 18s for the Evo and some 17s for my DSM. They stick like glue and are every bit as daily friendly as anything else. Just make sure to take them off when the temps drop and store them inside over winter. They are damn cheap from www.vulcantire.com.

And if you don't mind me asking, what bed ended up curing your back woes?

nothing yet... I'm still looking.. but theres nothing more fustrating then not sleeping! Waking up 3 to 4 times a night because your back is hurting and you cant get comfortable. Then walking around for half a day until your back starts to feel normal again. I"m just pissed I spent all this money and your basically stuck. If anyone has sugestions I'm open to listen!

Well I finally had all my tires mounted and I threw the wheels back on the Evo and they barely clear the rear fender lip now. I replaced my 245/40-18 Toyo T1S with Falken Azenis RT 615 245/40-18 on my 18x8.5 +30 Volks and I can't believe how much wider the Falkens are. I held the tires next to eachother and the Falkens are a good 3/4" wider. Another millimeter and they would touch the rear fender lip. And they stick like glue.

I have a bunch of parts sitting up at Performance Alignment that I need to get on there so I can do a new alignment and give the rear a little more camber. I have the Whiteline roll center and bump steer kits and some new trailing arm bushings. All that stuff with a new alignment and these tires should make the car really fun.
