Well our friend Carter threw the #1 rod through the side of the block. So sever it bent the balance shaft and caused it to further break the side of the block. Some how there isn't a scratch on the head. So....now he is searching for a short block so he can get the car back on the road.

Yeah my block is torn up really good. I swear, if we can prove that the auto-tensioner is the cause I will so SHOVE THIS UP THE A$$ of that dealership!!!

But yeah, looking for a new short-block. Thinking of a 2.4 from maperformance.com -- anyone know about their builds?

Paul has been an amazing help (who am i kidding -- i watched him tear the head off while i was looking for tools lol). This is quite the project for sure. So far I think the list so far is:

short block, head gasket, new injectors (unsure on size yet), new valve springs, water pump and oil pump gaskets, oil catch can (the intake is super dirty!!!), and potentially an auto tensioner (if the new one is busted -- i swear the timing blet had 4 inches of play on it when we took the engine apart!)

Where is TIC located?

Hey guys, it's been a while for me...

Last year, I changed lower intercooler pipes when I upgraded my IC so I have an ETS LP2 that I'm about to put up for sale. It's their mild steel version with gloss black coating. It would come as is from ETS, only used. This means it will come with the turbo side coupler and two clamps. I am the original owner. I'd prefer to sell to someone local instead of shipping it out.

Would anyone be interested? Send me a PM for more details.

MAP is one of the higher end 'name-brand' shops in my opinion - at least when it comes to the 4g63. I've seen some of their cars first hand at the shootout - ever so clean. My favorite is probably was the 4g63 RX7. They know what they are doing but I don't know much about the details of their builds or motors.

For what it is worth, I can't remember ever hearing anything bad about them. I've heard good things about their port and polish work. I've bought a few parts off them due to the pricing at the time. I'd assume their motors are not the cheapest but there is probably a reason why - proven experience.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Why you need mutlll? I went to 2 dealerships to have my rear diff bleed... Using mut tool. Even took them the instructions in manual. They looked at me like I had a duck growing from my forehead. Asked if it was same as crnter diff... Really? But my rear diff worked it self out. The tool can be bought. But depending on what you want it for tephra has a program that you can use in place of tool. But depends on what you need it for. I might be able to help. Text me and let me know.

Has anyone in here had work done from Proxses Tuning in Centerville? I am probably going to be getting the RRM turbo kit for my ES and am looking around the area for somewhere to get it installed.

Go to TiC and save yourself the headache in case something goes wrong. I've never heard of them before, so I can't comment on the quality of work they do.
