Naperville Ribfest
Has anyone been to this?
It's at Knoch Park from 7/01/05 - 7/04/05 in Naperville, IL. I wanted to check it out and bring my g/f there. For those who have been there or heard about it, is it worth going to? Just wanted some feedback, good or bad.
Thanks.

I been to every ribfest since I move to naperville 4 years ago. They have good bands, and great food. It get very busy july 4 for the firework. This is the biggest event in naperville so it seem like every napervillian come out of the woodwork. If you like rib, this is the place, since they have 15-20 different vendors. Enjoy!!

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! I had mixed reviews from this forum (rib forums maybe hehe)...saying that it's overcrowded, people are rude, and just a bunch of drunkards trying to get their grub on.
I like your review better gashero . How's the prices for it?

ribfest is freakin awesome. I've gone every year since I was about 7 except 2 (coming back from San Diego and Japan we're not really options! Although I considered it from SD). There are all kinds of ribs from all over the world. They also have other stuff like corn on the cob, elephant ears, rootbeer floats. It is pretty expensive though and there are a lot of people there to get their grub on but that's kinda the point in my opinion
The music I could do without, it seems to usually be stuff that my parents like. Parking is insane but fortunately my parents live within walking distance I would suggest not going on the 4th as it is ungodly packed but the rest of the week is bearable. I'd also suggest an early or late lunch to avoid the 11:30-1:00 rush.
Less than 2 weeks till RIBS!

It is expensive but worth going at least once. Great Bands this year and I'm 21: The Dog and Everything, Local H, Ted Nugent (Cat Scratch Fever), Kenny Wayne Shephard (Blue on Black), and Blue Oyster Cult(Don't Fear the Reaper), to name a few. Ribs are awesome and so is the corn. A lot of local bands play there, too. It is crowded though.

damn this thread really proved to be useful. Really great reviews guys! Btw...this is a 3 day event if I'm not mistaken...out of the 3 days which is the best time to go? I probably won't be able to go unless it's sat or sun.

it's actually 4 days July 1-4. Any time is a good time but like I said above, lunch (especially on the weekends) is really crowded. Avoid the typical lunch hour rush time and you should enjoy yourself
