what up man!! How is the RS doing? My new turbo and alky kit should be in next week!! can't wait. I know I told you about that carbon hood...well a couple days later DHL finally called and picked the thing up...so good thing I still had it.
anyway, I had my tint done at Shaders on Gratiot in clinton twp. 586-792-5840. I have been real happy with it so far. The price was $220.

hey dude. My "GSR" is actually good. I know my RSboy throws people off about my car, but I had the nickname from when I had my Impreza RS prior to the Evo, when I first joined evom. Too bad about the CF hood... I was ready to drop some moeny on that. It's cool though.
Man.. your car is going to be awesome! Which turbo did u get? the WR? I've rode on someone's evo with an alky kit and it' pretty cool.
thanks for the shop info. The price looks about the same as other places.. i'll definitely call them up to see how long it would take them. I might meet with Fast Frank this weekend to check out his WR turbo'd Evo. Should be cool.

I got mine done at a shop off gratiot in roseville just south of 696. I think the name was D**. The letters that start with a D, detroit custom... Anyways they did a awesome job and have great reputation. Was one of the only places with high quality tint. Highly reccomend.

Sun-Shade Window Tinting in Troy. I'm not sure what it'd run to do an Evo (don't have one, yet and haven't had a sedan done there), but for like $35 more they have insurance on the tint that will probably save your butt if you ever get a ticket... Just take the car back there, they'll peel it off and then you go have your car inspected by the cops. As soon as that's finished, take your car back and they'll reapply new tint. They do really great work.

I second jtsherri's recommendation. I Three people who went through sun-shade and have had nothing but great things to say. Thngs to look out for in case you weren't aware are make sure they use just one piece of tint to cover your larger windows and make sure the tint they use won't discolor after a year or 2. This is somthing I plan on doing as well so you'll have to let me know how it goes.

Hey Uncle X...
I found a great deal at a shop in ohio for $125+tax from a buddy who had his Evo done. Wanna go on a road trip? I went to Sunshades when I had my Impreza but they wanted about $300 for the tint job. I'll have to pass on that. It might be the same for the Evo or maybe more since we have that rear wiper on our back windows. I've looked around and most shops are around $220 for the Evo.

I got my tint at First Class Auto in Taylor, MI.. a few miles south of Detroit. Just take Telegraph southbound almost to Northline road. Its on the southbound side of Telegraph. I have a lifetime warranty on my tint, and it costed me about $200 for the custom color. (yellow) Normal black tint would be around $150 or so out the door for all windows except windshield. They also do any fiberglass work you could dream of. Its top quality too. They do awesome work, and are really quick. I got my trunk setup done in 2 or 3 days. Its all fiberglassed in the spare tire well, with the wood coverplate over the top wrapped in felt. Neons also light up the subs underneath when the subs hit. Its a good place to keep in mind for any custom work decently priced.

rsboy...I'm planning to do the same. Let me know where you can go, maybe if you, Uncle x and I go get it done together, we might be able to negotiate some sort of group buy. Keep me posted.

I'll keep you posted if I find a good deal. I'm thinking i'll wait till the fall or something when the price might good down. I even tried asking the old place I went to for my Impreza RS and they wouldn't cut a deal for returning customers.
I'll try and ask Zeibart about their prices. It's not a priority for me, but it would be nice to have tint on my car. But track days are just much more fun!
