Clutch replacement Chicago Area

Like most here, I don't really want to have the dealership due a clutch job, but I would be interested in hearing recommendations for people to do clutch work around the Chicago are (SW burbs).

I have friend that did mine on the side, ex-mitsu mechanic. Only Saturdays however, even will resurface your stock flywheel, if its not too bad! You will have to come down to the south-south side. He put my RPS street in this past summer, no problems at all. Even didn't mind me hanging out watching.

ams did mine but I had so many problems. 1) ie didn't torque my t-case lug not and the next day found a pool of greenish fluid in my gargage. and the list continue from there. Anyway, they are good to you if you are spending thousand of dollars but a clutch job they just hand the lowest mechanic on the totem pole there to do your clutch. They are too busy now to oversee their own mistake.

Why not have the dealership do it? I'm working on a clutch special pricing, where it's going to be approximately less than half of what it would normally be. And we have hook-ups on many clutches for great pricing as well!

PM me if you're interested!

Well we really dont have a "lowest" mechanic. All of our techs here are equally highly qualified. Im sorry you had this happen. Did you call us and let us know? In the rare event one of our technicians does make a mistake we take full accountability for it and get you back on your way. Please dont make generalized statements like that, its very untrue and to someone whom is reading this and doesnt know any better you are misinforming them. Our Technicians are the best in the buisness but they are human and things can happen, thats why we warranty our work. Please call the shop and we can get this taken care of for you.

Eric

performanceautowerks in plainfield is good too.

Most people dont go to dealerships because they quote you 11 hours at 100 or so an hour for labor
