You should tell them the same thing I told the officer that pulled me over for my HKS exhaust. I told him that if it is illegal to modify any exhaust from the stock manufacture's specifications,then every MIDAS, Merlins exhaust etc. would be illegal. And also, Harleys exhaust a far louder than any EVO's exhaust so they would need to ticket them also.

 

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but i think i'll wait it out and see what happens with it.
I also have Integra Type R that is twice as loud and he never complains about that car.
Just don't get it.

I can't believe your neighbor is such a dick. Actually, I can. I have one like that, too. He has never done anything to that degree, though.

I think you're doing the right thing by waiting it out. I have never heard anything about Illinois having a law in place stating it is illegal to replace the stock exhaust with anything but an equivocal replacement. Of course, maybe I'm just deaf from my loud exhaust!

I mean no disrespect to EnJaNir, but I just don't understand how it can be illegal in the state of Illinois if they have no decible requirement to enforce it. That said, it wouldn't be the first time lawmakers enacted something that didn't make sense. Good luck and keep us posted.

 

my friend's old neighbor had a heavily modded track mustang and its super loud.. and his neighbor was also a dick and filed a law suit and he won.. so the court put the mustang owner on probation... that he needed to put the car back to stock.. or at least to a reasonable level of noise i'm not sure... and he needed to report to the police station every month or 2 months... i dont think ur car is loud at all... maybe its the bass from the exhaust that shakes his house...? if you want more detail on that story chris, ask steve cuz its his neighbor...

 

I have the APS turbo-back. The only time it is loud is when (as someone stated above) its WOT. As long as you arn't stomping it when you go by his house he's full of $hit.

 

i am but a lowly NA lancer, but I have magnaflow exhaust and my brother has a camaro with borla exhaust......

The response? Our neighbors all just got on mid-life crisis kicks and next thing you know there's like 6 other cars with modified exhaust!! I wish every street was like that..... good luck to you though

 

What a sh!tty neighbor. Everyone's got one. My next door neighbor complained about the noise from my 5 year olds birthday party. I am about 10 minutes from batavia so let me know when everyone is going to meet up and rev in front of his house, I would love to be a part of that. GL in court

buy a cut out and run that open for a litlle while. he will be begging u to go back the way it was.

 

Maybe I will. Not to worried anymore he had riced out del sol there on weds. night to thurs. morning and the del sol left at 5am and was louder than my car is and have it on tape.

Can't wait til court.
