Detroit traffic lawyer needed

It figures that I would get a ticket while out of town for work while driving a 06 Mercury Grand Marquis(old man car in my opinion) rental car and not my own. I have never even had a ticket in my Evo. Anyway, I got a speeding ticket for 55 in a 50 on Telegraph Rd. just south of 696 in Oakland County. Crappy thing is that I was supposed to go home yesterday but had to stay because the company that ships the equipment that I was here to install never shipped it out and said that it would be here today. I was wondering if anyone in the area could help me find a lawyer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fight it on your own...55 in a 50 should NOT be ticketable.

I can't believe you got a ticket for 5 over!

Good luck fighting it.

That is correct, no points for 5 over.

Michigan cops love their 5 over tickets. I got one a bit over a month ago. Didn't fight it, though, because he clocked me at near 20 over. 5 over is still a pretty big fine, though ($174.)

$174? The cop gave me a nice little sheet with all the fine amounts on it and for 1-5mph over if paid within 14 days is $115. After 14 days it goes up to $145. If there are no points associated with this 5mph over ticket then I'll just pay the thing. I jusrt didn't want my insurance going up. Paying $67 a month is very nice.

I paid late, plus fees on top of the fine.

Some insurance companies are more forgiving than others when it comes to 0 point under 5mph moving violations.
