byron is a sh***y track. it even has a decline. but it's closer to me than GLD so i guess i can't complain too much lol

Black wheels, right? I believe I lined up next to you on the run where I missed 2nd and coasted to an 18.8 
I had a great time and ran decently, all things considered. It was my first time ever at the strip and I was still on my winter tires. Best ET 13.109 with 1.999 60', best trap was 108.52.

my best for the day was a 12.4 with a 1.7 60' and a trap of 115 mph.

Hey guys, I was up there today too. I had the silver 9 mr se with a carbon fiber front lip. My best run was a 12.898, 1.8 60', at 106 mph.......Seen a lot of evos out there 
, had a great time....

I later heard some idiot in the stands making fun of my 18.8 as if it were actually a legitimate run 
I'm a little disappointed in my trap speeds (I'm running a TBE, MBC @ ~21psi, and AMS FMIC/LICP) but I'm hoping with a decent launch and some better shifting I ought to get them up to where they should be.
Your car looked great SPOOLED! There were definitely plenty of Evos to go around.

I was out there today with quite a few friends - the only Evo of my group though. GSR w/ an SE lip and AMS front mount. I ran that ~74 Pontiac (the obnoxiously loud, beat-up gray one) when it blew up at the end of the track

I was there. I have a GG IX & my best run was 12.6 @ 110 mph with 1.7 60'.
List of EVO's @ GLD.
Silver 8 with no wing - he was with me.
72Tornado - I guess that was you in the other GG 9 with no plates.
SPOOLED IX MR - that was you in the Silver 9 MR SE.
STiHAVOC - that was you in the Blue 8 with black wheel - we actually saw you at McDonalds by Gurnee.
V.8MR - that was you in the Silver MR with silver Volks.
Red MR I think - did not see him run but he was parked right by the time slip booth.
WW RS with aftermarket front bumper.
WW MR with the back bumper damaged by exhaust smoke.
WW 9 I think with gold rims & no wing.
That is a lot of EVO's.

51, I believe I saw a couple other GG IXs as well - one with an AMS front mount and another GSR that looked stock with some dark tint. The driver didn't seem to know much about drag racing as the flagger was instructing him how to stage 
Anyway, I appreciate the advice from you and your friend. I was just too wary to launch it off the 2-step initially but I kinda got past that as the day went on. Just need to slip the clutch a little faster now.
