Continental ContiExtremes and a Central Illinois winter. I'll be driving it plenty - Interstate, etc!

Hey Kazz. I've seen you on CII. Are you the guy that went to Vicary Day with us? Silver Evo with blue graphics on the side? If so, you were running some impressive times in stock form. Good job. I was the guy with the trailored black cherry Talon down at the Paradice.

I for one am looking forward to driving in the snow (not in traffic mind you) - I think it's fun if you have the right car/tire combo.

Blizzaks otw due tomorrow or Monday. Looking forward to trying them out. I had summer tires on and after a few close calls, they had to go. One k lighter ( rims + tires + shipping = wallet pain ) and hopefully a lot safer for winter.

Para

P.S. Any of you guys from CII, send me a msg sometime. I'm on clubwrx, CII, etc.

I was agonizing over which route to go all summer; I ended up buying an '84 Saab 900 Turbo for $400 from a friend.

Probably cheaper than a set of low-profile snow tires, and saves worrying about all the road salt we get here (not to mention worrying about having someone slide into you at an iced-over intersection).

However, driving a FWD car in the winter isn't as fun as RWD or AWD... oh well. Also not sure about what to do with the Saab come spring assuming it's still running (Only have a teeny one-car garage where the Evo is hibernating, and on-street parking is pretty tight where I live)

I was planning on parking my Evo for the winter, but I can't keep from driving it. It's just too much fun to let sit in the garage all winter...

I am in the blizzak camp as well. Put the LM22's on my Evo mid December and love them. They are great in the snow. Took it out on Sunday when we were getting a 4 or 5 inches and it was a blast. Oh and the best part is that when it is not snowing the LM 22's are rated to 130mph. I had them up to 136 before the snow hit so I can verify that.....I will probably evcen keep it on in the spring and wait longer before I put on my summer tires.

It's my wife's daily driver. Occasionally she'll give me permission to drive it on weekends..."Fill 'er up, and get it washed, will ya?!"
