Thats how WA has been for years. On the brightside, here the cops arent willing to do the 100 pages of paperwork and impound cars. Usually they will just drop it to the most they can without going through all the hassle which is 25mph over.

well, if you're driving in excess >100mph, you're either late for something or racing...so, either leave early, and don't race!

With 55mph roads in this state, this now means that just trying to keep with the flow of traffic on the Eisenhower could land you in jail. Hell, people don't even get that here for shooting others. I could see the 40+or the 100+, I think the 30 + is a bit excessive.

So what is the purpose of having a fast car if you can't drive it freely?

That law does suck. I wonder how many other states will start to enact that law.

I see this law as such a bad idea. This will make more people try to run from the police to avoid the year in prison and hefty fines.

Uhh, at 85 mph I am barely going faster than traffic most of the time. Apparently that's potentially a big enough deal to land 6 months in prison.

Just another reason to move out of this ****hole sooner or later.

It will be interesting to see how this is enforced, if this is mandatory or optional.

You now can get more of a penalty for doing 30 over than you can for discharging a firearm in a residential area. A parole violation from petty speeding.

Then again, this is Illinois. .
