I think it could be done in a good weekend, for me it's much longer cause I'm having things custom done and learning as I go once the howto is done it'll be pretty fast. So far I'm 6 days in but not even close to full days maybe 4 hours a day and I spent 2 in the wrong direction cause I was trying to do it without dropping the engine to start.

I'm pretty sure that the aluminum (right?) casing is made in china. It has so many air bubbles in it! Sure hope it's not under alot of stress because them air pockets will make it very weak. The tranny could have better cooling if those drain holes (I'm asuming) were properly cleaned up so the oil could flow better.

Okay well an other weekend by and the car is back together, I'm still waiting on the cooler to arrive should be on wed, but I got pics of the pan installed, so here we go

TheSin, firstly- thanks for the excellent write up. It's nice of you to document the trail you are blazing.
Secondly, what's the scoop on the front-mount cooler? I only see the rear-mount one available on MAP's site.

it's from SSP, and it was just released so I might be the first installer of it and as such just might not be online yet. Contact SSP Kris for info on it or MAP direct.

i didn't see it in the picts, but where the new sump pan goes, where does the factory suction tube go, if there is one? will it reach to the bottom of the new pan? is the pan completely full in the OEM such that there will be no sloshing of fluid around?
what did u use for new gasket? liquid-gasket?

The suction is along the bottom of the tranny and sticks out a bit in the front the pan is in the front so it'll be fine.
The pan is pretty much perfect it has the OEM reusable rubber gasket lines built in so I reused the OEM and it fit like a glove!
you can see the groove for it in the none anodized pics a few posts back.
