LSD = Limited Slip Differential.
Not to sure on how much HP the tranny can take, but the real issue is really torque and temp. Check some of the threads on this sections for for info

why install an aftermarket LSD at all? the stock ones are more than fine, no need to upgrade.
in fact the evo has a helical LSD in front, and the AYC diff in the rear, so you cant even replace that one if you want to keep AYC. AYC is also connected to the ACD and ABS system so realistically theres no touching that part...
for the RA you could possibly replace the rear mechanical LSD but its really just a waste of money...

Yeah, I am going to Tech too. What's your major?
Sadly I drive an RA but I have an EVO X back home. Know of any good performance/spec shops in LBK?
Thanks man didn't know LSD. Why would you want to replace your slip though? It is engineered for maximum control in the first place. Replacing it would kind of kill the whole i bought an EVO thing and I can go around a corner faster than you!
Also, HP=Tourqe*Angular Velocity (RPMs), most car parts will be rated for certain HP since Torque die's down at higher RPMs where final loading on mechanical members occurs. Members will stress due to energy intake which is only a part of how much force or in this case torque is applied. It is also related to temperature, angular velocity, and external system vibrations.<--- For anyone who doesn't know LBk has the worst roads and external vibrations are the worst part for any car = sad day for nice cars in LBK.

Yes both the Lancer Ralliart and Evo come with front and rear LSDs.

The diff in the back of the Raliart is an Evo-9 piece I believe. I would start looking there if you are looking to upgrade the diff. I know the X uses a different diff than the 9, but I am not sure how physically different the dimensions are that would effect installation of a 9 diff.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the AYC also has the ability to perform the same function as a limited slip.
