CEL Codes / Transmission Clunky / SST Service Light On

Hi all,

Recently had an issue where the car threw a CEL and the yellow SST transmission warning (take it for a service) on the dash. At the time it threw the CEL, car would not rev and AFS (I think) was flashing off.

Clearing the DTC's with ECUflash seems to clear the light for about 1 second and then it comes back on. Reflashing a copy of the stock rom back on does not help either.

I have had a friend read the codes with his ECUDataScan, as I could not find any free way of reading them.

Codes that came up were:
P0102
C2161
P0004
P0131
P1870

Could anyone shed any light on what these codes mean and how to rectify the problem? At the moment I do not want to drive the car due to the severe clunking of the shifts (don't want to cause any damage).

Many thanks!

My MR threw the P0102 along with the "Service SST" warning when my MAF sensor went out, only that code though. My AP read the P0102 as "...low volumetric flow rate...." (can't remember all of it). This made my gears engage/disengage crazy rough, it felt like each shift was destroying the tranny it was so violent.

This code does not clear, if you reset it, it will just come back.

From futher reading and forum searching it may just be a faulty MAF. I assume if I plug in another MAF from a Evo X the CEL will go away and all should return to normal? If I clear DTC's in Ecuscan, the CEL will dissapear and then pop right back up... So sounds exactly like your situation.

If not then it would indicate something else?

Thanks for the help so far guys

It might be the same thing that happened to me, but again I didn't get the other codes. Yeah I put in a new MAF, cleared the code, started the car, everything was fine.

I believe that is the cold weather light RA owners were getting with the GST 2.0 map. If you clear it, it shouldn't come back. If it does, talk to your tuner.

Help

Hello Guys

I am new in this forum .My name is Theo and i am trying to find some answers to the problems on the EVO X 2008 SST.
The car has only a turbo back exhaust and started to destroy the OEM clutch.
After changing the OEM clutch with the SSP 600hp version the SERVICE REQUIRE appear and the clutch was spinning on 1-3-5 and 2-4-6.
I get out the clutch and replace the again with SSP
Again the same story happened burned clutch.....
The car went to MITSUBISHI dealer and the codes that the diagnose gave was
P1877,P1876,P2809,P2723

The car doesn't work and still spinning the clutch.

Anybody can help

EvoScan 2.9 is dishing out junk codes. Its deblocking of CEL info is busted, apparently.

Use an earlier version to get sensible codes.
