just to be clear, this seems to appear to look like a 2010 problem. Were there any changes between 08-10 that may have caused this?

No clue, but mine is leaking as well. The dealer told me the tranny was leaking and they fixed the problem....

Did my oil change the other week and I found oil on my plastic guard. They really need to get on this.

Mine was a cracked trans filter housing too.
It took them over 2 weeks to finally fix it after they had to send someone from corporate to look at my car for some reason, then the parts didn't come in on time, then the molds were wrong.
I got a brand new 2011 Mustang V6 with 100 miles on it to drive while they were fixing it though. Definitely like the RA better.

I also have a popping noise behind my rear fender on the driver side and I found other guys on here having the same problem and found that its probably a missing weld.

tranny leaking on my 2010 with less than 8k and not hard driven... they put everything new but the job took them like 2 1/2 weeks to complete the job...asking dealership because apparently is a pretty common fail in 2010's...
What you guys think about this failure??wud likely affect the car again??
thanks in advance...

it appears to be a specific line of 2010 models from what I've gathered but no hard evidence to confirm this. My 08 with 33000 miles appears to be ok and I've also already have to trans filter/fluid replaced already.

My 2010 RA has just over 6100 miles. It is a slow leak from what I can tell and the plastic undertray catches it. So it had to collect for a little while before I found the drop in the Garage. From the pictures I have seen it looks like the filter housing is made of plastic. Anyone actually put hands on this piece?

Yes the housing is composite plastic. I have an extra one sitting on my desk.

Has anyone compared an 08 to 10 version? Did they really change them? Seems something silly to change if they were working fine in 08. Perhaps they changed the manufacturer during that time and someone dropped the ball during that time.

Dealership just called. Parts are in and have an appointment for 7:30am Monday. I will bring my camera and ask to see the cracked part.

Or they could have been looking to duct tape a nice "evo" bumper to their civic.
