And yah, it is known that we can burn up to a quart of oil in 3k depending how hard you are on it. That is why recommends checking the fluid at every fill up.

I also read that, and it doesn't seem to be a TSB.

I'm just saying what mitsubishi has alerted their techs of. I never burned any oil in my X.

Ahh, yah that's what I was going off of. Regardless, even if it's not a TSB, will replace it.

but the X's are prone to do this? is there a fix for it?

leaking transmissions, oil burning motors...i thought i was doing the right thing by selling my IX MR. Maybe I jumped the gun. 176,000 miles, zero issues, now this car with 1000 miles has all these future headaches waiting for me?

I haven't witnessed it, so I can't say.

I read it in a TSB posted under mitsubishiparts.net's section. It may only apply to 2008 and earlier? As far as the housing, yah it sucks, but things happen with new transmissions. Why it was changed is beyond me. Just keep an eye for fluid, if you don't see any you should be good . Really nothing to worry about. And if your engine is burning oil, go back to and demand they fix it. Like I said, I never had an issue, even at the track.

So back on topic lol.

So the fluid seams to be coming from the filter housing? Just replacing it will fix the issue?

One more thing to check this weekend...

Yes, should replace it under warranty. If you want to do it yourself you can, but I'd suggest them doing it since they'll replace your SST fluid or at the very least make sure it has enough.

Thanx for the clear up. Yeah... don't think I will be letting the dealer touch my car

Make sure you go to a good dealer to have the TC-SST looked at. After I had my leak fixed I started getting the transmission over heating warning and gears slipping. I took it to another dealer because I had nothing but problems with the other one and this new dealer wont even touch my transmission because they said the other dealer probably screwed something up (over filling/underfilling etc.). and since its a return repair theyd have to bite the cost on it so now I have to go back to the ****ty dealer to have them figure out and fix whatever the problem is. So be careful where you go!
