Question Is "S-Sport" mode too much for Auto Cross!?

Quick feedback LOL: Just went back from Auto-X today which was my third auto-X (one was held at superspeedway with part of the real track). Had totally 10 runs. My best time was with mode set for "Sport". Did try several runs with "S-Sport" and it was too much power even leftover from engining breaking/downshifting and kept making all four wheels spinning at some corners... Maybe I should go easy on the gas padel, or maybe the animal would like to be slowed down LOL. Anyway, what the manual says "S-Sport was designed for a closed track only" IMO was very true ! Anyone got same feeling as mine?
PS: still new to the car as well as the Auto-X

Were you in manual mode or auto? Also, what mode were you in for ASC?

Yeah, I only do Auto and AWD was for Tarmac

PS: Course was nice and most ppl did between 55s to 60s. 5 continuing runs and had no "slow down" warning for either SST or Brembo breaks! Very happy lol

ASC, as in SAYC. Did you turn it off? off-off?

Oh, what difference it would make when it's off-off?

Off disables the automatic braking. Off-Off disables automatic power distribution.

The difference in how it drives is ASC "off" (single push) is that you won't have the squiggly lines robbing your of engine power as you slide. Very handy for controlled drifting.

In "off-off", without the power redistribution, it will keep the power in Tarmac setting at 80% rear, and if/when you start a tail slide, it won't do the "normal" re-distribution up to the front which helps stabilize a car. I spun at a track HPDE in Off-off mode, shifting btwn 3rd and 4th. I leave it on OFF-single unless I'm at a drag strip now. I leave it on whenever its inclement weather and I don't have a shoulder on the roads I'm driving on.

In the 370Z the traction control can be turned off with a button, but like in the Evo X it wont turn off 100%. However there is a Bosch fuse under the center console that you can unplug that will disable traction control 100%. Is there a way to do this in the Evo X?

For all intensive purposes, if you press and hold for 5 seconds, traction control is off.

The ACD still does it's thing. There's a steer-by-wire thing designed into the ACD ("A" is for active). There's a super cool youtube of the Evo's steering and stability controls that's out there. Awesome clips. I think it's in clip #2 that describes it, but once you start watching these things, they're addictive!

No, car is 50/50 no matter what, 365 24/7.

ACD modes just change rate of CD lock-up

ASC "modes" just change stability assist which is braking / AYC braking / throttle control

If I had to judge from tracking my car, I don't think Tarmac is 20f/80r. It seems I can use the front to pull me out of corners a lot more than I could with my VIII. But if you do have some information that states otherwise, please share

I'm gonna not argue too badly I'll just write that if you want to see the X NOT use the front to pull you out of a corner, turn ASC Off-off. Be careful though. Don't do it near any fixed structures like walls. Very scary when going 70mph and you realize that the behavior all of sudden isn't pulling the FW like ya want. Thankfully I was at an HPDE and have a few RWD experiences like that in my lifetime, so no bent metal. I was just experimenting with different things. No more mad scientist with that setting, not while in traffic or with walls near.

Awww, that could make sense. I only do "off" at HPDEs cause I've heard of many spinning out.
