Good question, we need to find out what setup worked for them, although I can hear some slight slippage going on in the lower gears.
The bouncing the rev limiter thing from 1st -> 2nd could be cured with some TPS table tuning as well.
EDIT: From an SSP post in Facebook:
Specs on Car:
2008 Evo X MR.
2.5ltr Bottom End
Upgraded Factory cylinder head Ported,
Tomei Cams, upgraded valves, valve springs etc.
E85 twin intank walbro’s feeding a custom surge tank and then 2 further walbros feeding 2000cc ID injectors.
FP Black
Tubular exhaust manifold,
Hyperflow Intercooler with custom aluminium pipework.
Factory intake manifold ported to match cylinder head.
Ecutek software tuned by Sean Day at S&J Automotive.
SSP 500hp clutch pack,
SSP Deep Sump,
SSP rear mounted Transcooler,
BC Coilovers,
Whitline swaybars and various other suspension mods.
Car has been lightened by removal of full interior. A/C system, front and rear crash bars etc.

Maybe in case one fails, but since it needs twins on the outside it would still detonate if one failed at that spot.
Personally I would go with dual Bosch inlines for a surge tank and then use an uprated internal pump as the biggest setup you could ever need. Double pumpers feeding a surge tank are overkill since you only need to flow at low pressure to top it off.

Probably had the double pumper and couldn't be bothered swapping it out
Oddly, i don't think I've seen anything about this car on the Aussie Evo forum
It seems to have been tuned in South Australia and this run was in Queensland (a few thousand miles away on the north east coast)
And yes, it did sound like it was slipping a little and buzzed the limiter on the 1->2 change. to it might go sub-11 when it's all sorted out

I stand corrected - the owner DID post up on the local forums, but is not a regular.
regardless, glad to see the US guys have something to chase
As much as i have never been keen on launching the car, I'm going to have to give the drags a shot once the new motor is in. If i can pull an 11.x i will be stoked!
