Clutch 2 Slipping? Rev delay when accelerating.

I have a MY12 ralliart with 57k miles. I started noticing this friday. In even gears, there is a delay in the rpms when im accelerating. And when im cruising in 4th and 6th, there are times where the rpms would bounce a little (100-200 rpms) and as soon as I shift into 3rd or 5th, the rpms become steady as they should be. I originally thought the clutch was slipping, but after testing it, the car doesn't free rev when i accelerate like a typical slipping clutch would. I did not go WOT but at half throttle acceleration, 2nd, 4th, and 6th gears have a slight delay in climbing rpms. Example: 3rd driving fine, half throttle acceleration. Shift into 4th. Half trottle acceleration rpms climb 2500 to 3500, half second delay, jumps up to 4000rpm. Also, cruising in 4th and 6th rpms bounce. Example: Cruising 6th gear, 55-60mph. RPMs bouncing about between 2800-3000. Any help with this is much appreciated! Thanks!!

so i drove home from work in sport mode...this issue has virtually no effect on second now. 4th gear is a little better but almost the same as in normal mode. 6th gear, as long as there is a steady acceleration rpms don't bounce. cruising in 6th sport mode rpm bounce is kept to a minimum, way way less than in normal mode. i am guessing clutch 2 isnt getting enough pressure to constantly keep the clutch engaged. bounce and delay could be due to pressure dropping and coming back up immediately.

Hello D-man,

I have the same even gear problem.
Could you tell me if you solved your problem and how ?

I have a C-Crosser with the same gearbox.
New fluid yesterday, but no change.

Thanks

Hello,

D-Man answer me he does a full fluid refresh + filter and solve the problem.

I have done the same without result .... up to 1.5 month....
Yes, it takes time but it finally works for about 80€.

A dirty solenoid was probably the source of problem. finger cross

Have you tried changing the fluid and filter? Teach-in after as well?
