New SST - ecutek tuned. Wrong S/W version?
Hallo everyone!
New evo X SST owner here! Bought it a week ago, and I am very happy with it.
The car is with aftermarket IC, exhaust, injectors and a hybrid slightly bigger turbo (please excuse wrong terms - english is not my mother language), The car must be somewhere below 450hp. It was tuned using ecutek.
The only problem I have is with the SST. The transmission is slipping heavily with 1st gear (especially in a cold morning) - when temperatures rise, the slipping is a lot less but the way the wheels engage with 1st gear is not smooth at all (sorry for the lingually poor description).
The previous owner was not using OEM tranny fluids - I am gonna change them asap (in approx a month, as I am waiting for them to arrive to the local dealer). I also know that the previous owner has already changed the clutch disk pack once.
The car's first registration was October 2009 - the VIN is JMBSMCZ4A9xxxxxxx. Which means that the car is MY2009 (correct?).
So I thought, while I am waiting for the OEM tranny fluid to arrive, I should perform a teach in, to see if things get better.
When I connected the car with canpassthru, I saw that the software version is 8631A3790C. As far as I know, this is the version for MY2008 cars, not MY2009! I don't know how it landed there - maybe the car (when the clutch pack was changed) had a teach in performed and they didn't flash the MY2009 version afterwards?
Anyway, as far as I have read / know, I should flash the MY2009 file (8631A8270B) - isn't it so?
Can it be that when the car was tuned (with ecutek) some changes were also made to the SST software, and for this reason I should NOT flash it to 8631A8270B (MY2009 firmware) after all?
Thank you very much for your input.

Updated info:
I checked the photo I shot with my ECU Part No and S/W Part No and I realised that the ECU Part No is 8631A379 which (according to the "How to guide") tells me that I have a 2008 Evolution..
What the heck? I thought that the 10th digit of the VIN shows the modelyear of the car - mine is 9, which shows that the car is MY2009. But the ECU Part No from canpassthru shows that the car is a 2008 Evolution.
Can a MY2009 (according to the VIN) car have an SST ECU of 2008??
Which would be the correct firmware file for my car?
Thanks for any input..

First of all thanks for the suggestions!
Just did it.
Got an error message right at the beginning and a note saying: "If you are on A479 or B413 sst rom you need to upgrade to B151 to do TeachIn". This message mentions A479 - I am on A379. Is this a typo in the error message?
I think I have read elsewhere that 2008 SSTs (and mine is 2008, according to TCU number) cannot have a teach-in performed and should be flashed to a newer rom in order to teach-in.
If this is the case, is B151 safe for my SST or should I flash back to A379 after teach in?
I would very much like to, but..
a. In their website they mention that this upgrade upgrades the rom to B151. I don't know if this is safe for a 2008 SST
b. My car has a bigger turbo (hybrid, bolt on), bigger injectors and cams, tuned with ecutek 3-4 years ago. I don't know whether anything is tuned / changed in the SST rom, which may get overwritten if I flash the clutch pressure upgrade.
I am waiting for it to arrive at the local dealer to change the tranny fluid to OEM asap.
Thanks mate! Any input will be appreciated!

Just flash it with b151 no need to go back to the oem file i asked this to hamish from evoscan and he told me this.
My evo x mr is also a 2008 and i flashed it with b151 its newer better and you can do teach ins.
if it has upgraded turbos use 7% clutch pressure increase and check with ecuflash if your sst tables were left untouched.

But Hamish's opinion counts a lot - I suppose he knows something we don't. The canpassthru manual is quite old after all.
Thanks a lot for your input!
