Awesome time out there and 138 on the home straight is amazing! It was good to meet you and the AMS guys and a nice surprise since I didn't even know you were going to be there on Sunday. I'm looking forward to reading about your progress in One Lap.

I'm also finding it entertaining how the Exige owner thought his car was slow when I talked to him on Saturday but still managed to click off 1:14s. I think he should just get rid of that "slow" piece of crap and give it to me.

I am almost on the road, I will be driving overnight (with my dad) from Columbia, SC to South Bend, Indiana.

I had lunch with Grey today when I picked up some stickers for the car at Radicals Motorsports in Florence.

I will be updating this thread, because I love you, but I have also set up a web page of my own to cover our trip.

www.racerjon.com/onelap05/intro.html

I dont have any pictures up on that page yet because I want to have the Bridgestone/Exedy and such stickers on the car.

As an update, Martin has the tow behind Uhaul trailer, the Vishnu diffuser and a quick release system so we can remove the 30 lb trailer hitch from the car all set up.

We will be meeting sometime in the morning in South Bend.

Just curious, why the RE-50's? They aren't usually brought up in high-performance tire talk around here. Usually it is the Advans, or Pilot Sports, or Toyos, etc...

Give me a week and we will see what gets brought up from now on...

Seriously, its a sorta new tire, Enzo Ferrari compound, and we could get the size we wanted. it is also a great mix of wet/dry performance. Some of the other "more grippy" tires won't perform in the rain, and we don't want to risk a bad finish if that happens.

I origionally wanted some S02s, but after talking with Bridgestone, their engineers and their marketing department, the RE050a is the best choice.

We put 75 track miles on a set the other day, outran everything in this hemisphere, and couldn't even tell they had been used.. I was VERY happy.

So Thanks Bridgestone and the Potenza RE050a, and I hope we can bring home a spectacular finish on those tires.

ALL of the One Lap of America events are open to the public and free this year. Please come out and introduce yourself if you can, it would be great to have cheering (or jeering) sections.

Thanks John. I hope the tires prove well for you. It's just that I had done a lot of tire research lately, and settled on the Hankook R-S2's for the peformance in the wet and dry and their low cost. But, I'm sure the RE-50's are great too.

Tire wear is a big factor as the competitors only get 6 tires total.
