MUELLERIZED EVO finishes season with 2 more track records

We won the last race of the San Fran Region SCCA up at Thunderhill setting new track records for both Qualifying and Race Lap times.

Qualified at 1:57.5 and Raced at 1:58.2. Not too shabby. That's with the cyclone btw.

There's still plenty of time left in that car. Looking forward to getting back up there next year.

-Kent

Thanks, already edited.

The improvements change everything. We picked up lots of speed down the straights(an xtra 100hp) but I didn't do such a good job of keeping the speed into/thru/exiting the turns(motons/305's) which would have further helped straight-a-way speeds even more.

There is still so much more time in that car it's insane.

Furthermore, there have been some big changes to the track that are going to make lapping even faster. There's a big paved runoff at turn 8, pavement now on the inside of turn 12(you can now practically drive a straight line from 11 to 13) and finally they paved the outside of turns 14 and 15 which will help set up higher speeds down the front straight.

Hehe, actually I meant the improvements TO thunderhill, which you mentioned in this last post. It's a faster track now isn't it! I dropped a couple seconds off my time because of the improvements on the track.

Great job Kent (as always)
also congrats on the season and the records.

By the way, the track isnt really that much faster. sure there are some saftey nets not that arent nice, because they are. plus you dont get as dirty going through the corners of the t-11 area. but, ive always driven 8 kind of the same way, actually, there is a little bump on the entrance that i dont like, that hurts my ability to driver "straight" through it. (minor though) the big deal is that if you bite off too much, you do have the safety net of 8 now with pavement and cones and little buttons! my time was right in line, and ive been going there for over 10 years now! Im sure if you look at the guys like stefanowitz and the other GT1 cars in group 3, their times were no faster as well. However, its more fun to drive t-thill now!

by the way, here was the results at laguna the first race by lap chart. not bad 47 cars passed by the end of lap 11! (and me!) well at least i had the lead for 4 laps and dearing for 6 laps. too bad about the 2-3 lap full course caution. , without it, i could have maybe won a race (besides the race where 3 of you got away with full course caution passes!! in august!) Hey, if i had to loose to someone, glad it was you . Again, nice job this season!

You and john owe me a beer! (ahaa, forget it, you guys took good care of me this year. Thanks again!!)

Yea but for me , even driving the same line I always do, I was carrying more speed because the added runoffs, etc boosted my confidence. I wasn't using the runoffs but my brain knew they where there so it let me go faster.

This is definitely where it can help. wish they had done this a long a time ago.

Kents speed was due to the extra 100hp and the 305s on all 4X4 corners. he drove the same, but didnt kick up the drirt!!! the car is a monster, no doubt!
