I can also confirm that the RacingBrake rotors are the best replacement rotors I've tested. My Evo is 100% a trackmobile and I wouldnt use any other brake rotor. Lets just say I've tested a few of the big name rotors and got some very poor results.

I don't track my evo (except the occasional 1/4 mile) but the two piece RB rotors are the shizzle. I wish I could provide some empirical evidence to back up my claim but all I know is that my car stops faster and has excellent pedel feel with this setup.

To give you guys an idea of how well the RB rotors wear. I bought my RB 2-pc front rotors from a local member who upgraded to a BBK setup. The previous owner told me he put 8 track days on them. The rotor thicknesses were 1.252-1.254". According to the shop manual, the nominal thickness of a new front rotor is 1.26". The service limit is 1.17". After putting 8 more track days on my rotors, the thicknesses are now at ~1.246". So my rotors have a lot more life left in them.

BTW, I've been using Hawk DTC60 an DTC70 race pads on the rotors at the track. I've worn out the DTC70s and am going to use Project Mu Level Max 900s next. Gonna try something a bit more economical since the DTC front pads cost so much.

I understand your pain for the cost. But when flying down the straight and you need good braking power there no way i would want a cheeper pad to stop with. The they may work ok but you already felt the power of the DTC-60

I also have had very good luck with the Racing Brake (WORKS) front 2-piece rotors. They appear to be wearing very well with the PF-01 pads I have been using with them.

I also have used the Project Mu Level Max 900s. They stop you surprisingly well compared to the others I have tried (PF-01, carbotech XP12). What they did not do well is hold up to the extreme heat. When I ran hard lap after hard lap for longer sessions, they started breaking/crumbling on me.
But for a few hard laps with some slower cool down laps in between (or if you have better cooling than I did-like ducts) they were awesome for the money.

For the record, when the DTC60/70 pads wear, they lose their heat capacity as well. I got my pads to fade at my last event at Laguna. I've crumbled both my DTC60 and DTC70 pads near the end of their life. The corners chunk off.

Huh-thanks for the info!
Looks like I'll be sticking with the PF-01s, as I was thinking about trying the $$$ Hawks next.

well as you can tell there is no pad left thats why they crumbled. any pad will do the same at the end of it's life. i would never run a track event at the end of it's pad life.

Yeah, the level max 900s can do that your first time out with them. The PF-01s and carbotech XP12s never crumbled on me.

XP's are the best pad out there for the Evo in my opinion. I have not tried PF 97's though.
